The morning program is designed to initiate the youngest child into the community of the Casa, while taking into account that a full day can be too tiring for the 3 year old child. A high protein snack is prepared and shared by the children each morning.

It is recommended that at age 4, we start observing the children to gauge readiness for full day.  The afternoon hours after the youngest children have gone home provide focused time with the Guide who can give more individualized lessons in reading and math during this time.

Children graduating from the Primary program leave young childhood behind and sensorial exploration to enter into the time of great imaginative and intellectual exploration. Children ages 6-9 are in Lower Elementary and children ages 9-12 are in Upper Elementary.

Catechesis is offered after Montessori hours for children who attend other schools. Atria are divided into mixed-age groups of 3-6 year olds, 6-9 year olds, and 9-12 year olds.
